OPENING KICKS

  • Bradley concludes its first, 3-game road swing of the 2019 season Wednesday when the Braves visit Missouri Valley Conference rival Loyola Chicago for a 7 p.m. game to be broadcast on ESPN+ via The Valley on ESPN.
  • The Braves will be looking to snap a 3-game losing streak, during which time they have managed just one goal, as well as a 3-game skein at Loyola Chicago.
  • As Bradley searches for its first road win of 2019, the Braves will play seven of their next 11 games away from home.

DOUBLE ROUND ROBIN

  • Bradley and Loyola Chicago will see each other again Oct. 23 when the Ramblers visit Shea Stadium to complete the home-and-home series.
  • The return trip is part of the Missouri Valley Conference's new double, round-robin league schedule format.
  • Each of the league's six men's soccer members will play a home-and-home series against one another, creating a 10-game regular-season conference table.
  • The 2009 season is the only other year in Valley men's soccer history to feature a full, double round-robin schedule format.

SERIES HISTORY
22nd Meeting • Bradley leads 14-7-0 • Tied in Chicago, 5-5-0 • Loyola leads in MVC games, 4-3-0

  • Wednesday's meeting will be the 22nd in the all-time series between the Braves and Loyola Chicago, which dates back to Bradley's first NCAA Division I season in 1987.
  • Although Bradley owns a 14-7 lead in the all-time series, Loyola has won four of the seven meetings since joining The Valley in 2013, including each of the last two matchups.
  • Bradley won 12-of-14 meetings from 1990-2013.
  • The Ramblers have won their last three home games against Bradley to even their all-time home record in the series at 5-5-0.
  • In his 24th year as Bradley head coach, Jim DeRose owns a 10-5-0 all-time record against the Ramblers.
  • Bradley's 4-2 win in double overtime Sept. 27, 1996 at Loyola Chicago was Jim DeRose's first career win in a true road game and came the day before DeRose's 29th birthday.

ROAD WARRIORS

  • Since opening the season with a 4-game home stand, Bradley now is two games into a stretch that will see the Braves play 9-of-13-games on the road.
  • Wednesday's game at Loyola Chicago is the third in Bradley's first of three, 3-game road trips of the season.
  • The Braves also will face 3-game road swings Oct. 9-15 and Oct. 27-Nov. 4.
  • Bradley has not played as many as nine regular-season road games since 2013 (5-2-2 regular-season road record, followed by a 1-1-0 record in two NCAA Tournament matches).
  • In fact, each of the last three seasons Bradley has played as many as nine regular-season road games, the Braves have gone on to reach the NCAA Tournament.
  • The 2019 season marks the seventh in Jim DeRose's 24 years as Bradley head coach the Braves have been challenged by at least nine regular-season road games.
  • While DeRose's first squad in 1996 posted a 3-7-0 record in its 10 road games, his five teams from 2000-13 to go on the road at least nine times combined for a 26-14-7 (.628) road record and four NCAA Tournament appearances in those seasons.
