After leading the Bradley men's basketball team to a pair of conference victories last week, senior guard Darrell Brown was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

In wins against Evansville and Southern Illinois, Brown averaged 18.5 points – shooting 48.0 percent from the field and 4-of-10 from beyond the arc. The senior scored 16 points in a victory at Evansville, helping the Braves to its largest Valley road win in 10 seasons. He then added a team-best 21 points against Southern Illinois on Saturday as BU posted back-to-back MVC wins by at least 15 points for the first time in 13 years.

The team's leading scorer during each of his first three seasons on campus, Brown is currently second on the team with 14.1 points to go with a BU-best 4.7 assists per game. The senior is also averaging 19.4 points in five games since the holiday break after posting 11.8 points in the season's first 12 contests.

Brown earned the league's Player of the Week honors for the third time during his career and the first during his senior campaign.

Brown and the Braves are back in action on Wednesday night. With a 3-1 conference record, Bradley is off to its best league start since 2008-09 and squares off at Missouri State with a 7 p.m. start.
