ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- For the second consecutive week and the third time this season, sophomore Lasha Petree (Detroit, Mich./Arbor Prep) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week after helping Bradley Women's Basketball to a 76-61 victory over I-74 rival Illinois State Friday.

Petree scored a game-high 24 points and also collected four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a career-high six blocked shots in the win over the Redbirds.  She scored 15 of her game-high 24 points in the second half, including 10 points over the final 12 minutes to help Bradley outscore the Redbirds 26-8 during that stretch.

Her six blocks tied for the highest total in the MVC this season and also matched the fourth-best single game total in Bradley history.  Petree was the first Bradley player with six or more blocks in a game since December 2015.  She was 5-for-7 from the field in the second half as she helped Bradley to its school record 13th straight home victory and ninth consecutive MVC home win.

Petree, who earned MVC Player of the Week honors last Monday, also earned the distinction back on Dec. 9 earlier this season and is the first Brave to earn the award three times in a single season.  In fact, Petree has received the award four times in her near two years at Bradley and is the first four-time Valley Player of the Week winner in program history.

Averaging a conference-leading 19.0 points per game on the year, Petree has scored 24 or more in each of the first three MVC games of the season and is averaging an impressive 28.0 points per outing in league play.  She is the only player in the nation with 40 or more three-pointers and at least 25 blocks through games of Jan. 12.

Petree has helped Bradley to a 12-2 start to the season to match the best start through 14 games in program history.  The Braves are also 3-0 in MVC play for the fifth time in school history.

Bradley opens a two-game MVC road swing Friday with a 3 p.m. game at Loyola.
