Koch Bar Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior center Koch Bar (Abyei, South Sudan/Arlington Country Day) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Men's Basketball to a pair of Missouri Valley Conference victories last week.

Bar averaged 6.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.0 steal per game in the two wins to help the Braves improve to 3-1 in MVC play for the team's best start to league action since 2008-09 (4-0). Bar had six points, nine rebounds, one block and one steal in a 72-52 win at Evansville last Wednesday. He followed it up with six points, 11 rebounds and a steal in addition to tying a career high with five blocks to highlight a 67-48 home win over Southern Illinois. A graphic design major, Bar owns a 3.46 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Bar and Bradley Men's Basketball return to action tonight with a 7 p.m. game at Missouri State.
