ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the third consecutive week and fifth time in the last eight chances, Bradley Women's Basketball boasts the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week with junior guard Gabi Haack receiving the league's weekly award announced by the Valley Monday afternoon.

Haack was selected as the MVC Player of the Week for the second time this season, after previously earning the honor back on Nov. 25.  Bradley (14-2 overall, 5-0 MVC) has had five MVC Player of the Week picks through 10 weeks of the 2019-20 season, one short of matching BU's combined Valley Player of the Week total over the last seven seasons.  Sophomore guard Lasha Petree was the MVC Player of the Week each of the last two weeks and three times so far this season.

Haack averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 57 percent from the field in a pair of Bradley road victories last week.  She scored a game-high 16 points and also had seven rebounds, three assists and one steal at Loyola, where she connected on a pair of three-pointers in a 60-47 victory.

Haack followed that up by scoring a game-high 21 points on 6-of-8 shooting (4-of-6 from three-point range) at Valparaiso as she became the 19th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.  The ninth junior in Bradley history to reach the mark, she is the seventh fastest Bradley player to 1,000 career points.  The last junior to reach the 1,000-point mark was Katie Yohn in 2011-12.

Haack also had five rebounds, two assists and two steals to highlight the 75-61 road win at Valpo Sunday, scoring 10 of her 21 points during the third quarter to help Bradley pull away for the victory which improved the Braves to 14-2 overall & 5-0 in Valley play.

Bradley's 5-0 start to league play is the best in program history and the Braves are the lone undefeated team in MVC play after the first three weeks of league action.  In addition, the 14-2 overall record is also Bradley's best mark in school history through 16 games.

Haack is second on the team in both scoring (14.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.5 rpg) this season, in addition to ranking 44th nationally in three-point field goals per game (2.7).  She enters a two-game home stand needing just three three-pointers to move ahead of Genny Mueller into second in Bradley history in career three-pointers.

The Braves open a two-game home stand Friday with a 7 p.m. game against Northern Iowa at Renaissance Coliseum.  As part of the Spring Welcome Week activities, fans are encouraged to help the Braves "Cram the Coliseum."  There will be a Teddy Bear Toss at halftime and fans are asked to bring in new stuffed animals to be tossed onto the court.  The stuffed animals will be collected for the Cuddles for Kids organization to be used for therapy for children who are in need.
