ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- For the second consecutive week and the third time this season, junior guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week according to an announcement by the league office Monday afternoon.

Bradley has had the MVC Player of the Week each of the past four weeks with sophomore Lasha Petree earning the honor the first two weeks of conference play (Jan. 6 & Jan. 13) to mark the first time in league history one school has claimed four consecutive player of the week awards.  Haack is now a three-time MVC Player of the Week performer this season, also claiming the distinction back on Nov. 25.

Haack averaged a team-best 16.5 points per game in addition to collecting 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game in a pair of historic wins for Bradley.  In Friday's win against UNI, which snapped a 16-game losing skid in the series, she had eight points, six rebounds and three assists without a turnover.  Going a perfect 6-for-6 from the throw line, she helped the Braves limit Northern Iowa to its second lowest scoring output of the season in the 61-47 victory.  In fact, UNI's trio of starting guards which had combined to average 26.4 points per game going into the contest, scored a combined seven points in the game.

In Saturday's one-point win against Drake, Haack turned in one of her best performances of the year; collecting a season-best 25 points in addition to matching a career-high 12 rebounds.  Bradley trailed by six midway through the first quarter when Haack had 11 points during a 14-0 BU run.  She had 16 points during the first quarter to help the Braves jump out to the lead.  The 77-76 victory ended a 12-game losing skid in the series with the Bulldogs as Bradley improved to 7-0 to start MVC play for the first time in program history and picked up its eighth consecutive win overall to tie for the third longest win streak in Bradley history.

Haack, who moved into second in career three-pointers at Bradley, jumped up five spots on the BU all-time scoring list over the weekend into 15th.  She has 185 career three-pointers, 25 behind Katie Yohn's school record of 210, while her 1,033 career points are 15 behind Val Wancket for 14th on BU's all-time scoring list.

Bradley's six MVC Player of the Week selections in 2019-20 is equal to the team's total from the seven-year stretch between the 2012-13 and the 2018-19 seasons.

Bradley is 16-2 overall on the year and 7-0 in MVC play for the first time in school history.  The Braves open a season-long, three-game home stand Friday at 22nd-ranked Missouri State in a battle between the top two teams in the MVC standings.
