Danya Kingsby Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior guard Danya Kingsby (Milwaukee, Wis./Southern Idaho) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Men's Basketball split a pair of games last week.

Kingsby averaged 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game last week. He had 12 points, four boards, two assists and a steal in a 75-63 home victory against I-74 rival Illinois State last Wednesday. Kingsby hit a trio of three-pointers for the short-handed Braves in Saturday's outing at Indiana State, finishing with 12 points, five rebounds, six assists and a block. A sociology major, Kingsby owns a 4.00 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Kingsby and the Bradley Men's Basketball team return to action tonight, hosting Valparaiso in a 6 p.m. game at Carver Arena.
