PEORIA, IL – Although the State of Illinois COVID-19 Response Plan will prevent fans from being able to attend home games as the 2020-21 college basketball season begins later this month, Bradley Men's Basketball will call the Peoria Civic Center's Carver Arena home for a 39th consecutive season.

"Due to the ramifications of the ongoing global pandemic, the leadership at Bradley University and the Peoria Civic Center have mutually agreed to renegotiate the terms of our existing contract for the 2020-21 men's basketball season, allowing Bradley Basketball to continue to make Carver Arena home this season," said Dr. Chris Reynolds, Bradley Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics.  "Although the State of Illinois COVID-19 mitigation protocols will prevent fans from attending games to start the season, maintaining consistency, fulfilling contractual obligations to our sponsors and operating in a fiscally responsible manner all are important factors in our decision-making process and our on-going partnership with the Peoria Civic Center fulfills all of these factors.

"I want to thank Matt Bartolo, Rik Edgar and the team at the Peoria Civic Center for recognizing the unique challenges this season will present and working with us in a true partnership," added Reynolds.  "I also want to thank our loyal Bradley fans, who are amongst the best fans in college basketball, for their understanding as we all navigate these most unusual times."

The two-time, defending Missouri Valley Conference champion, Bradley will begin the 2020-21 season Nov. 25 in a multi-team event hosted by Xavier.  The Braves will open their 14-game home schedule Dec. 1 by hosting Judson at Carver Arena.  All 14 home games will be broadcast with the specific television and streaming services for each game still to be determined.

Bradley Women's Basketball and Bradley Volleyball both will play their home games on campus at Renaissance Coliseum and both currently face the same fan attendance restrictions.  Coming off a record-setting campaign last season, the Bradley Women's Basketball team will open the 2020-21 season by hosting Kansas City Nov. 25.  Television and streaming designations for both the Bradley Women's Basketball and Volleyball teams also is still to be determined.
