Elijah Childs of the Bradley men's basketball got his senior season off to a strong start and was rewarded with Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday.

Childs led the Braves to a 2-1 start to the 2020-21 season, earning All-Tournament Team accolades at the Xavier Invitational. During the three games in Cincinnati, Childs led Bradley with 15.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 2.0 steals per game in addition to 2.3 assists per contest.

The senior forward scored a season-best 17 points against the host Musketeers on Thursday, while adding his first double-double of the season in Friday's win against Oakland with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Childs also landed on SportsCenter's Top 10 with an alley-oop dunk on Wednesday against Toledo that earned the No. 5 Play of the Day by ESPN.

The weekly accolade marks the third time during Childs' career that he was named Valley Player of the Week after earning the honor twice during his sophomore campaign.

Childs and the Braves are back in action on Tuesday night, hosting Judson in the team's home opener. The schools are set to tip off at Carver Arena at 7 p.m.
