PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) has been named this week's Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Women's Basketball split a pair of home games last week.
Haack averaged 18.0 points and a team-best 6.0 rebounds per outing, while shooting 63.2 percent from the field and 57.1 percent (8-for-14) from beyond the arc in the two home contests. She opened the week by connecting on a season-high seven three-pointers (7-for-10) and finishing with team highs of 24 points and seven rebounds against Summit League preseason favorite South Dakota. Playing just 13 minutes in a blowout over Quincy the very next day, Haack finished with 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting and also had five boards, two assists and a block. Haack moved into the top 25 in MVC history in career three-pointers in the game against South Dakota and climbed into 10th in career scoring at Bradley in the game against Quincy. An elementary education major, Haack owns a 3.79 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Haack and the Braves open the Missouri Valley Conference portion of the schedule with a two-game series at Drake Jan. 1 & 2 in Des Moines, Iowa.
