Braves Host Indiana State Wednesday in Key Valley Matchup

The Bradley men's basketball team hosts Indiana State on Wednesday night in a key Missouri Valley Conference matchup. The schools are set for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Carver Arena.

ABOUT THE BRAVES
• Bradley owns a 16-9 record during the 2019-20 campaign and is tied for fourth with Indiana State in the Missouri Valley standings at 7-5.
• The Braves are coming off a 69-58 home win against Evansville on Sunday. BU has won its last three home games and is 13-1 at Carver Arena.
• Senior Darrell Brown has eclipsed 20 points in back-to-back games and now leads the Braves with 14.8 points and 4.5 assists per game.
• Junior Elijah Childs added 19 points and 11 boards Sunday and is averaging 14.5 points and 9.2 rebounds in 13 contests this season.
• Senior Nate Kennell and sophomore Ja'Shon Henry also average in double figures with 12.4 and 10.0 points, respectively.

BROWN RANKS NINTH IN BU SCORING
• Overall, senior Darrell Brown has continued his climb up the Bradley record book and is on the heels of two more former Braves.
• Brown now ranks ninth in Bradley history with 1,705 career points after passing Phillip Gilbert and Anthony Parker on Sunday.
• The senior is just nine points short of Voise Winters for eighth and 16 shy of Walt Lemon, Jr. for seventh in school history.
• Overall, the senior ranks 37th among active players in the NCAA with his 1,705 points.
• With at least seven games remaining, Brown is on pace to finish his career with 1,808 career points – ranking sixth in school history.
 

WELCOME BACK, ELIJAH CHILDS
• The Braves received a boost in Sunday's win over Evansville with the return of junior Elijah Childs.
• Childs had missed 12 of the last 13 games with a hand injury, originally suffered on Dec. 15.
• The junior picked up where he left off with 19 points and 11 rebounds – recording his team-leading fourth double-double of the season.
• Overall, the 2019 MVC Championship MVP is second on the team with 14.5 points per game and first with 9.2 rebounds.
 

BALANCED TEAM
• The Braves have featured a strong offensive and defensive team throughout the 2019-20 season.
• Bradley currently ranks third in the Valley in both scoring offense (71.0) and scoring defense (64.6) this season.
• The Braves are on pace to finish in the top five in the conference in both categories for the first time since the 1981-82 campaign (4th - offense / 3rd - defense).
