Bradley Track Set for GVSU Big Meet

The Bradley track and field teams are set for their final meet before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, traveling to Michigan for the GVSU Big Meet.
 

MEET INFO
The action begins at Grand Valley State at 8 a.m. CT on Friday with the 5,000m heats taking place during the first three-plus honors of the meet (with two additional sections also later in the day). The remaining events are slated to begin at 11:45 a.m. CT.
 

LAST TIME OUT
Six Braves set PR times at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational with three student-athletes clocking top-10 times in school history. McKenzie Altmayer led the way by posting the fifth-best time in school history in the 3,000m run, while Jake Hoffert was 10th in the mile and Alec Danner was 10th in the 3,000m.
 

LAST YEAR AT GVSU
During the 2019 GVSU Big Meet, eight Braves posted top-10 times in school history.
 
Simon Paige led the action for BU by posting the fourth-best time in school history in the 800m run, while Joey Simon was seventh in the event. Three additional BU men added their name to the record book in other events – Alex Klinkner (sixth in 400m), Ben Potrykus (10th in mile) and Brayden Huddleston (seventh in 5,000m).
 
Tyler Schwartz led the Bradley women by posting at the time, the fifth-best mark in school history in the 3,000m run. Gabby Juarez also posted the seventh-best mark in the event at GVSU.
 

BRAVES IN THE RANKINGS
With the MVC Championship on deck for Bradley, a number of Braves find themselves ranked in the top 10 so far.
 
McKenzie Altmayer leads all BU student-athletes by placing second in the conference in the 3,000m run with a time of 9:46.15. Gabby Juarez is also ranked in the event, coming in sixth, while Ally Lampert is sixth in the 5,000m and Hannah Ivy is 10th in the 400m.
 
Alec Danner leads the BU men by placing third in the 3,000m run. Two additional Braves follow in the rankings as Matthew Richtman is ninth and Luke Hoffert is 10th. Bradley also has two runners ranked in both the 800m and mile as Scott Seymour is fifth in the 800m with Joey Simon placing 10th. Jake Hoffert leads BU in the mile and is ranked sixth, while Danner also places ninth in the event.
 

UP NEXT
Bradley is off next weekend before competing at the MVC Indoor Championship in two weeks at Northern Iowa.
