W: Jackson, Emma (3-2)

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. – Junior
Stacia Seeton and sophomore
Samantha Smith both hit three-run homers, while senior
Emma Jackson held Army to just three hits as the Braves topped the Golden Knights 12-2 in five innings to start the second day of play at the Golden State Classic Saturday.
Bradley (4-4 overall) collected 11 hits in the victory for the team's third win in its last four outings. Seeton hit her team-leading third homer of the year, while Smith went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and four driven in to help highlight the victory.
Jackson worked around five walks, giving up just three hits in the complete game victory as she improved to 3-2 on the year.
The Braves once again had to battle from behind with Army (5-3 overall) striking for a run in the top of the first. A leadoff walk helped lead to an Ally Snelling RBI double as the Golden Knights grabbed an early 1-0 lead.
Bradley wouldn't trail for long, however, with the Braves taking advantage of a two-out error that kept the bottom of the first alive. Junior
Taise Thompson drew a two-out walk and senior
Kealia Wysocki reached on the two-out error to keep the inning going. Seeton followed with a three-run homer, the 24
th of her career, to put Bradley in front 3-1.
Jackson pitched around a two-out walk in the second, but Army was able to push another run across in the top of the third. The Golden Knights opened the inning with back-to-back walks and Jolie Duong would eventually score from third on a groundout to the right side of the infield. A hit batter and two-out walk loaded the bases as Army threatened for more, before Jackson got a groundout to keep Bradley in front 3-2.
A six-run bottom of the third broke the game open for the Braves. Seeton followed singles by Thompson and Wysocki with a walk to load the bases. Senior
Allison Apke drove home the first run of the frame with a RBI single to left. Smith added another run when she reached on a fielder's choice. A single by freshman
Olivia Bradley loaded the bases once again for the Braves, who got a two-run single from junior
Vicki Zaluske. Another run came home on a
Camryn Monteer single and Thompson made it a 9-2 BU lead with a sacrifice fly.
Jackson retired Army in order in the top of the fourth and Bradley added three more in the bottom half of the inning. Seeton and Apke walked to start the frame and Smith delivered the big blow with a three-run homer to left center as the lead ballooned to 12-2.
After giving up a one-out single in the top of the fifth, Jackson got a pop out and a fielder's choice to close out the complete game win.
The Braves continue play at the Golden State Classic Saturday afternoon with a 4:30 p.m. (CST) game against Sacramento State.
