Bradley senior Nate Kennell was honored for his work on and off the court on Thursday as he was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. By earning the accolade, Kennell is now eligible for Academic All-America honors.

Kennell is one of five student-athletes honored in District 5, which includes all Division I schools from the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. He is also the first Brave to receive the honor since all-district recognition began in 1982.

The senior is enjoying his most successful campaign in the Bradley Red & White during the 2019-20 season. Kennell is currently ranked ninth nationally with a 3-point percentage of 44.4, while posting a career-best 12.3 points per game. He also leads the Braves and ranks ninth in the Valley with 1.2 steals per game, while placing third in the conference with a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio.

During his standout career, Kennell helped the Braves to the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Championship, earning all-tournament team accolades as Bradley won the postseason crown for the first time in 31 years. He currently ranks 34th in school history with 1,153 career points and is second all-time at BU with 236 made 3-pointers.

Off the court, Kennell owns a 3.52 grade point average, while pursuing his degree in management information systems.

Kennell and the Braves are back in action on Saturday night, playing at Valparaiso with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
