Bradley Track Opens Action at MVC Championship

Cedar Falls, Iowa – The Bradley track teams opened action at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship on Saturday, claiming one all-conference honoree, while advancing four runners into Sunday's finals.

Senior Jack Hoffert highlighted the action for BU, finishing second in the 5,000m run with a time of 14:28.91. The senior earned all-conference accolades for the second time during his career in the indoor season with his second-place finish.

Overall, four Braves placed in the 5,000m run on Saturday night. Senior Luke Hoffert was fourth in 14:31.09, while Matthew Richtman and Jack Franklin followed in sixth and seventh place, respectively, with times of 14:49.57 and 14:55.14.

On the women's side, senior Gabby Juarez scored with an eighth-place finish in the 5,000m run with a time of 17:34.61.

In addition, both the men's and women's distance medley relay teams placed fourth in the opening day of action.

Four Braves qualified for Sunday finals as Joey Simon advanced in the men's 800m and Ben Potrykus and Nick Porter qualified for the men's mile. Meanwhile, Hannah Ivy advanced in the women's 400m with a time of 57.56 - the second-best time in school history.

After one day of action, the Bradley men's team sits in fourth place in the MVC standings, while the women are ninth.

Action continues on Sunday with the second day of the MVC Championship beginning at 1 p.m.
