Game Recap: Baseball | | Bobby Parker, Associate AD for Communications
COOKEVILLE, TN – Each of Bradley's nine starting hitters reached base safely at least twice and each scored at least one run as the Braves (4-6) rolled to a 16-1 win Sunday at Tennessee Tech (3-7) to complete a 3-game series sweep against the Golden Eagles at Bush Stadium.

Senior LF Dan Bolt continued to swing the big bat for the Braves, belting two more home runs and driving in five.  The reigning Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, Bolt hit at least one home run in each of the three games in the series and now has seven home runs on the season, all in the last six games.  Junior RF Eli Rawlinson also hit two home runs Sunday in a 3-for-5 effort with four RBIs.

The offensive outburst provided plenty of support for starter Matt Hamilton (1-2), who earned his first career Bradley win by allowing just one run on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts in his 6.0 innings.  Senior RHP Jed Moscot worked a scoreless seventh inning to close out the game, which was halted after seven innings by the 10-run rule.

After Tennessee Tech scored its lone run in the first inning, Bradley took control with a 5-run uprising in the second inning.  Adam Rellihan tied the game, 1-1, with a RBI single and Rawlinson followed with his first home run of the year, a 3-run blast, to put the Braves in front for good.  The Braves got their fifth run when Ryan Vogel walked, stole second and scored on a Brendan Dougherty base hit.

After pushing the lead to 6-1 in the fifth inning when Keaton Rice doubled and scored on a Peter Hansen ground ball, the Braves broke it open with five runs in both the sixth and seventh innings.  Bolt and Rice homered on either side of a Connor O'Brien double in the sixth, then Bolt pulled the double long ball with Rawlinson in the seventh.

GAME NOTES
  • Senior SS Luke Shadid was 1-for-4 with a hit by pitch in his five plate appearances Sunday, extending his on-base streak to 16 games, dating to last season.
  • All four of Bolt's hits in the 3-game series at Tennessee Tech left the yard.  He finished the series 4-for-12 with four home runs, eight RBI's, three walks and a hit by pitch.  With a .881 slugging percentage through the season's first eight games, Bolt has raised his career slugging percentage to .572, tied for the sixth-best in program history.
