Men's Basketball 3/3/2020 10:00:00 AM
For the first time in 16 seasons and just the 10th time in school history, three members of the Bradley men's basketball team were honored on the All-Missouri Valley Conference Teams as senior Darrell Brown, junior Elijah Childs and senior Nate Kennell all collected the accolade.

Overall, Bradley's three selections were the most in the conference this season. Brown and Childs both collected second-team accolades, while Kennell was named to the third team.

Brown earned all-conference honors for the third-straight season as the senior was named to the third team in 2017-18 and collected second-team accolades a season ago. He is the first Brave to be named to the All-Valley Teams three times since Marcellus Sommerville collected the honor from 2004 to 2006.

Overall, Brown leads Bradley with 14.8 points and 4.5 assists per game during his senior campaign. On target to become just the third Brave in school history to lead his team in scoring in all four years on campus, Brown ranks fifth in the conference in points this season and second in assists. The senior will go down as one of the best to wear the Bradley Red & White as he is currently sixth in school history with 1,795 career points and fifth with 470 career assists.

Childs earned second-team Valley honors despite playing in only 19 games and eight conference contests due to an injury. The junior forward is also averaging 14.8 points per game, while leading Bradley with 8.7 rebounds per contest. A third-team all-conference honoree a year ago in addition to the MVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Childs led the Braves in scoring in 10 of his 19 contests, while collecting a team-high in rebounds on 13 occasions.

Kennell collected all-conference honors for the first time in his career after receiving MVC Sixth Man of the Year accolades a season ago. The senior is enjoying his best season on campus as he currently ranks seventh in the nation with a 3-point percentage of 44.9, averaging a personal-best 12.8 points this year. Also named to the MVC All-Tournament Team a season ago as Bradley lifted the trophy for the first time in 31 years, Kennell's 83 triples this year are currently tied for the sixth-most in school history, while his 44.9 percent clip from beyond the arc is the fourth-best in the BU record book.

Overall, Kennell ranks second in school history with 248 career made 3-pointers, third with a 3-point percentage of 41.2 and 32nd with 1,207 career points.

The Braves now turn their attention toward the postseason as Bradley looks to defend its Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Bradley opens against Southern Illinois on Friday with the quarterfinal slated to begin at Enterprise Center at 2:30 p.m.
