Two days after leading the conference with three All-Missouri Valley Conference selections, the Bradley men's basketball team duplicated the feat in the classroom as the Braves led all teams with four selections to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Teams.

Senior Nate Kennell was named to the league's first team, while senior Koch Bar and junior Elijah Childs both collected second-team accolades. Additionally, sophomore Ja'Shon Henry received honorable mention to the academic team.

Earning second-team scholar-athlete accolades the last two seasons, Kennell is a first-team honoree after scoring a career-best 12.8 points per game as a senior. A third-team All-Valley selection, Kennell currently ranks seventh nationally with a 3-point percentage of 44.9. Majoring in management information systems, Kennell owns a 3.52 grade point average.

Kennell is the first Brave to receive first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete honors since Walt Lemon, Jr. in 2013-14.

Bar was named a second-team MVC Scholar-Athlete after receiving honorable mention a season ago. Owning a 3.46 GPA in studio art graphic design, Bar averaged 6.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in 31 appearances (29 starts) during his senior campaign.

Childs also earned second-team academic accolades after receiving honorable mention to the team a year ago. Also a second-team all-conference performer on the court, Childs averaged 14.8 points and a team-leading 8.7 rebounds. The junior owns a 3.33 grade point average as a sports communication major.

Named to the Valley Most Improved Team on Wednesday, Henry received scholar-athlete accolades for the first time in his career. Posting a 3.22 GPA in Family & Consumer Science Retail Merchandising, Henry averaged 9.7 points and 6.1 boards per game this season – ranking sixth in the conference in rebounding.

The Braves now turn their attention toward the postseason as Bradley looks to defend its Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Bradley opens against Southern Illinois on Friday with the quarterfinal slated to begin at Enterprise Center at 2:30 p.m.
