Volleyball Quartet Earns National Academic Honor

PEORIA, Ill. -- Redshirt senior Kathryn Graf along with former teammates Maggie Revell, Hanna Alexander and Abby Ihrke were part of a group that recently earned the Experiential Learning Project of the Year award at the 2020 Small Business Institute (SBI) National Conference.

The group, which also included Nathaniel Gibson, consulted with G&D Integrated of Morton, Ill., to outlay a strategic plan for the business based on market, industry and company research during the Spring 2019 semester.

Projects of universities from across the country were evaluated by a diverse panel of judges. This is the second year in a row Bradley students have been awarded by the SBI.

The winning projects were a result of Bradley University's Foster College of Business Senior Consulting Projects, a 16-week program completed by a team of four to six business students. Student teams are a mixture of accounting, business, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, and management and leadership disciplines.

Currently working towards a master's degree in accounting, Graf sat out the 2019 season with an injury and is one of three seniors on the roster in 2020. A senior, Revell led Bradley and was fifth in the MVC in hitting percentage this past fall in her final year. Alexander, who earned a bachelor's degree in finance last spring, exhausted her eligibility at the end of the 2018 campaign. Ihrke also closed her Bradley career in 2018 after majoring in both finance and Spanish and is currently enrolled in Bradley's MBA program.
