PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior runner Ben Potrykus (Burntisland, Scotland/Heriot Watt University) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday.

A chemistry major with a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, Potrykus earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors after a fourth-place finish at the 2019 MVC Cross Country Championship.  During his career, he has four top-10 finishes at MVC Track & Field Championships, highlighted by being part of a fourth-place finish in the distance medley relay at the 2020 MVC Indoor Championship this winter.  Individually, he followed up a seventh-place finish in the mile at the 2019 MVC Championship with a ninth-place showing this year and also boasts an eighth-place finish in the 1,500 meters in 2019. 

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
