Theron Denlinger Named COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Redshirt junior pitcher Theron Denlinger (Cuba City, Wis./Cuba City) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday.

A 2019 Second-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection, Denlinger was named to the 2020 NCBWA Stopper-of-the-Year Award list. His six saves in 2019 tied the sixth-best season total in Bradley history as he averaged 9.8 strikeouts per nine innings last spring while holding opponents to a .175 average. A transfer from Madison College, where he was a NJCAA Academic All-American in 2018, Denlinger led the Braves with 22 appearances in 2019. A business management and leadership major, Denlinger owns a 3.67 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
