Senior Sam Lechowicz of the Bradley women's cross country and track programs was honored by earning selection into Phi Kappa Phi and Academic Hall of Fame at BU.

A four-year member of the Braves' cross country and track programs, Lechowicz helped BU to two Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships during her career at BU. On the track, the Palatine, Illinois, native owns the sixth-best 3,000m steeplechase in school history, clocking a time of 11:01.44 in 2018.

Away from the course and track, Lechowicz owns a 3.92 grade point average as a psychology and English education double major. She has received the Dean's Award in social science (2018) and in humanities (2018), while belonging to both the English and Psychology Honor Societies.

The senior has also held numerous positions on and off campus. She serves as the Public Relations Chair and is secretary for Psi Chi International Psychology Honor Society, while also serving as the team's representative on Student-Athlete Advisory Council. Lechowicz has also held positions as marketing intern at Arthur J. Gallagher, a Fortune 500 company, special projects intern for the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council and a library and research intern with the Peoria Women's Club.

Phi Kappa Phi is Bradley's only university-wide national honors society that includes faculty, students, and staff. It recognizes and promotes scholarly excellence and the love of learning (the Phi Kappa Phi motto is "Let the love of learning rule humankind").

In 1977, the chapter established the Bradley University Academic Hall of Fame. Each year the chapter selects academically exceptional seniors from those students nominated by their academic department for membership in the Academic Hall of Fame. The requirements of induction are a minimum of 60 hours in residence and a GPA of 3.80. Recipients are selected on the basis of their genuine love of learning as well as their academic records, extra-curricular activities and independent studies.
