Peoria, Ill. – Sophomore transfer Sean East II of the Bradley men's basketball team was granted a waiver by the NCAA this week and is eligible to play for the Braves during the 2020-21 season.

"We're excited that Sean has had his waiver approved," said Bradley head coach Brian Wardle. "He is a young man with very good Atlantic-10 experience and will be a valuable part of our program this season."

East joins the Braves after spending one season at Massachusetts. The 6-foot-3 guard led the Minutemen and ranked 57th in Division I with 4.9 assists per game – the fourth-best total in the country by a freshman. Named one of the top 50 undergraduate transfers in the nation by ESPN, East also scored 9.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, while leading UMass with 34 total steals.

East will have three years of eligibility remaining at Bradley.

The transfer joins a roster that has won back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference Championships, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1954 and 1955.
