Bradley Athletics Launching Series of Virtual Events

Fans encouraged to participate in Braves Club Bradley Classic Virtual 5K and Braves Club Virtual Trivia Night Events

PEORIA, IL – The fall competition season has been postponed, but Bradley Athletics and the Braves Club are organizing events in virtual settings next month to engage with the Braves fan base. Bradley Athletics invites fans to participate in the Braves Club Bradley Classic Virtual 5K Run/Walk the weekend of Oct. 16-18 and the Braves Club Virtual Trivia Night Oct. 24.

Coinciding with the planned Oct. 16 date for the running of the 17th annual Bradley Classic cross country meet and presented by Styles Studios Fitness, the Braves Club Bradley Classic Virtual 5K Run/Walk will provide Bradley fans the opportunity to engage in physical activity in a socially-distant environment. Participants may complete their activity from anywhere in the world by registering for the event at BradleyBraves.com and then submitting their time during the event dates. Registration is $30 for adults or $10 for Bradley University students with a valid Bradley email address and participants will receive a Bradley Classic Virtual 5K t-shirt and a digital race bib. Upon completion, participants will be able to enter their times at BradleyBraves.com and see how they stack up to the worldwide event field.

Bradley fans are encouraged to gather in a virtual setting for a fun night of trivia during the inaugural Braves Club Virtual Trivia Night, presented by The Hotels at Grand Prairie. Scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, the Braves Club Virtual Trivia Night will utilize Zoom technology as teams of up to eight players each will put their knowledge to the test, with the aid of a Bradley panel of experts. Registration is $160 for a team of up to eight players and several add-on packages are available to provide a leg-up on the competition.

The two virtual events will follow two Throwback Thursday Series video events on the Bradley Athletics Facebook page. Using the Facebook Premiere video element from the department's Facebook page, the Braves will produce condensed re-airings of two significant Bradley Volleyball and Bradley Soccer competitions with commentary and insight from participating coaches and student-athletes. The Throwback Thursday Series will debut at 6 p.m. Sept. 24 by featuring Bradley Volleyball's 5-set win at Interstate 74 rival Illinois State Nov. 1, 2019 and will continue at 6 p.m. Oct. 1 by spotlighting Bradley Soccer's 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship.

The Club supplements the operating budgets of all 15 teams and sponsors numerous social functions surrounding Braves athletic events.
