PEORIA, Ill. – Redshirt freshman Rienk Mast (Groningen, Netherlands/Donar Groningen) has been named this week's Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Men's Basketball split a pair of games at Northern Iowa to open the Missouri Valley Conference schedule.

Mast, who was named the MVC Newcomer of the Week Tuesday, averaged 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists, while shooting 50 percent from the field and was 6-for-11 (55.6 percent) from three-point range.  Entering the series, Mast had only one double-digit scoring performance to his name in nine non-conference games. He eclipsed that mark in the two Bradley contests this weekend as he totaled a career-best 14 points Sunday before adding 13 points in Monday's win, including nine points during a key 19-7 stretch that turned a four-point deficit into an eight-point lead late in the game. He made 4-of-7 field goals in the winning effort, including a 3-of-5 mark from beyond the arc.  A physics major, Mast owns a 3.73 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Mast and the Braves are home this weekend, opening a two-game series with Evansville Saturday afternoon (3 p.m.) at Carver Arena.
