Megan Welch Named Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Senior women's golfer Megan Welch (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after pacing Bradley Women's Golf at the Coyote Creek Classic this past weekend.

In Bradley's first home tournament since the spring of 2017, Welch earned her second top-10 finish of the season and fourth of her career as she tied for eighth to help the Braves to a fifth-place team finish. She opened action at the par-72 Coyote Creek Golf Club by matching a career-best with a first-round 72. Welch fired 75's in the final two rounds to finish at six-over 222 in a tie for eighth. A mathematics education major, Welch owns a 3.59 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Welch and the Braves wrap up the 2021 Fall Schedule Oct. 24-26 in Hot Springs Village, Ark., at the Little Rock Classic.
