Senior Ja'Shon Henry and sophomore Rienk Mast of the Bradley men's basketball program were named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Team, announced by the conference on Wednesday.

Both standouts earned third-team accolades with Mast the only underclassmen on the 15-man teams to collect the preseason honor.

Henry is the team's top returning scorer from a season ago when he averaged 10.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Selected to the MVC All-Bench Team, Henry's scoring average is the highest by any Valley player with fewer than five starts in a season since Creighton's Terrell Taylor in 2001-02. During the 2020-21 campaign, Henry led Bradley in scoring in seven of the 21 games he played in, while scoring in double figures in 12 contests overall.

Named to the 2021 MVC All-Freshman Team, Mast made an immediate impact during his rookie season – leading all Valley freshmen in rebounding (5.8) and ranking second in scoring (8.6). His 8.6 points per game are the most by a Bradley freshman post player since NBA Lottery selection Patrick O'Bryant in 2004-05 and he led the Braves with 13.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game during the season's final 11 contests.

As a team, Bradley was selected sixth in the annual preseason poll, as determined by a panel of league sports information directors, media and coaches. Drake was voted first and followed by Loyola, Northern Iowa, Missouri State, Southern Illinois, BU, Valparaiso, Evansville, Indiana State and Illinois State.

The Braves have won two of the last three Missouri Valley Conference Tournament crowns and qualified for its respective NCAA Tournament. Bradley returns two starters and eight letterwinners from last season, while adding eight additional newcomers for the 2021-22 campaign.
