The Bradley men's cross country team is set to compete in its final regular-season meet of the season on Friday, running at the Illini Open.

The Braves are set to run in the men's 8K at 3:45 p.m. The Braves will be joined by the host Illini, Chicago State, Illinois State and Marquette at the meet.

BRAVES SWEEP WEEKLY VALLEY AWARDS
Bradley runners swept the weekly awards handed out by the Missouri Valley Conference as George Watson was named the MVC Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week and Nicola Jansen collected the female honor.

Watson earned the accolade after setting the school's 8K record at the Pre-National Invitational last Friday, running the course in 23:58.3. Later that same day, Jansen finished fifth overall at the Bradley Pink Classic, which included nine Valley schools, with a 6K time of 20:54.6.

BRAVES IN THE RANKINGS
The Bradley men currently sit in seventh place in the USTFCCCA Midwest poll and are the top Missouri Valley Conference team. Drake is the only other Valley school that is currently ranked, sitting in 11th place in the Midwest.

The BU women's team is 11th in the USTFCCCA Midwest rankings and is one of three Valley schools in the poll. Loyola leads the conference in 10th place, while Illinois State currently sits 14th.

UP NEXT
The Braves look to again reach the top of the podium with the Missouri Valley Conference Championship set for next Friday. The 10 Valley schools are set to meet at Illinois State on Oct. 29 with a 1 p.m. start time.
