Braves Ninth At Little Rock Golf Classic

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. -- Freshman Maria Perakis is tied for 18th after carding a one-over 73 Monday and Bradley Women's Golf held on to ninth in the team standings in the 11-team field during second-day action at the Little Rock Golf Classic.

Perakis turned in the low round of the tournament for the Braves with a one-over 73 at the par-72 Diamante Country Club and enters Tuesday's final round tied for 18th overall at three-over 147. Currently two shots out of the top 10, Perakis is eight shots back of individual leader Camila Morenzo from Central Arkansas, who sits at five-under 139 after two rounds.

Bradley was three shots better Monday, following up Sunday's opening-round 304 with a 301 as the Braves held onto ninth in the standings at 605. Seven strokes back of a tie for seventh at 598 between Missouri Valley Conference rivals Missouri State and Illinois State, Bradley has a five-shot edge on 10th-place Wichita State (610) and is nine shots up on 11th-place Stephen F. Austin (614). Central Arkansas fired a three-under 285 Monday and is atop the team leaderboard at four-under 572 with Louisiana-Monroe second at one-over 577 and tournament-host Little Rock third at 11-over 587.

Senior Megan Welch turned in her sixth consecutive round of 75 or better with a two-over 74 and is one back of Perakis in a tie for 22nd at four-over 148.

Sophomore Vaijayanti Bharkhada is tied for 42nd in the standings at 154, posting a second-round 80 Monday.

Junior Mara Flaherty fired four birdies during a second-round, three-over 75 to close the day at 158 in 53rd overall, while freshman Kathryn McNease is three back in a tie for 56^th (161) after she carded a second-round 79.

The final round of the Little Rock Golf Classic tees off Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
