Alec Danner Named Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Senior runner Alec Danner (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after pacing the Bradley Men's Cross Country team at last week's Gans Creek Classic.

Danner was the top finisher for the Braves, helping Bradley finish third in the 18-team field. He placed 10th overall with his 8K time of 24:15.0 now the third fastest mark in school history as he helped the Braves finish ahead of six regionally-ranked teams in the event held last Friday in Columbia, Mo. A business economics major, Danner owns a 3.51 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

The Bradley Cross Country teams return to action next Friday, Oct. 15, at the Pre-National Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla., in addition to hosting the Bradley Pink Classic at Newman Golf Course that same day.
