Morrow Named MVC Newcomer of the Week

Bradley has claimed The Valley Newcomer of the Week in each of the season's first two weeks

ST. LOUIS – Two weeks, two different Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Newcomers of the Week for Bradley. After freshman guard Caroline Waite copped the season's first weekly honor, junior forward Sierra Morrow (Minneapolis, MN/Edison HS) was named the season's second Valley Newcomer of the Week, according to a vote of the league's sports information contacts announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

A two-time junior college All-American, the 6-foot-1 Morrow helped the Braves to a pair of wins last week by averaging 10.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 blocked shots in the two games. She helped Bradley to an 83-53 win Nov. 15 against Upper Iowa by turning in 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot against the Peacocks. In Friday's 64-57 win against Wisconsin, Morrow just missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with four assists and a game-high four blocked shots.

While helping Bradley to a 3-0 start, Morrow has averaged 9.0 points per game. She leads the Braves with 7.0 rebounds per game and 2.0 blocked shots per game and shares the team lead with 3.7 assists per game.

Morrow and the Braves return to action Monday night in their first road game of the season, a 6 p.m. tip at Northern Illinois. Monday's game will be broadcast on 1290 WIRL with video streaming available on ESPN3.
