Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
Terre Haute, Ind. – The Bradley men's basketball team fell at Indiana State on Monday, 67-55. The Braves are now 9-10 on the year with a 3-7 mark in Missouri Valley Conference, while the Sycamores win their sixth-straight game to improve to 10-7 and 7-5 in league play.

Redshirt freshman Rienk Mast led the Braves with a career-best 17 points – making 7-of-12 field goals – to go with five rebounds and three assists. Senior Elijah Childs added his fifth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore Ville Tahvanainen also scored in double figures with 10 points.

Junior Terry Nolan Jr. (Baltimore, Md.) paced the Bradley attack with seven assists, matching his career high.

Indiana State took an early advantage in the contest and led by as many as seven points, 19-12. The Braves closed the deficit down to one, 19-18, after a six-point spurt – five of them from Mast – but a 7-2 stretch by the hosts to end the period led to Indiana State heading into the locker room with a 30-24 lead.

The Sycamores stretched their lead to eight points early in the second half, 37-29, but the Braves tightened up the contest after making six-consecutive shots – three baskets by Darius Hannah and two by Mast – as the Braves twice pulled within two points of Indiana State. However, a pair of triples by the Sycamores allowed the hosts to stretch their lead back out and Indiana State finished strong for the 67-55 victory.

Indiana State made 48.0 percent of its shots during the victory, while Bradley converted 38.6 percent of its chances.

After playing eight games in 16 days, the Braves now have a little break and return to action on Saturday, beginning a two-game series with Southern Illinois.

Game Notes: Mast's previous career high was 14 points on Jan. 10 … Childs' 12 rebounds were a season high … Nolan also recorded seven assists as a member of the George Washington program against Richmond on Feb. 21, 2018 … Indiana State has won 12 of its last 13 meetings with the Braves at Hulman Center.
