Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
Springfield, Mo. – The Bradley basketball team dropped its second-straight game at Missouri State on Sunday afternoon, 72-57. The Braves are now 11-13 on the season and 5-10 in Missouri Valley Conference action, while the Bears improve to 14-5 and 10-5 versus league foes.

Redshirt freshman Rienk Mast ed the Braves with his first collegiate double-double, tallying 15 points to go with a game-high 11 rebounds. Junior Kevin McAdoo and sophomore Sean East II also added 13 points for Bradley, while sophomore Antonio Thomas recorded a team-best four assists.

The schools played a tight first half until a late Missouri State surge gave the hosts a 10-point advantage at the break. Neither team led by more than a single possession for the first eight minutes of the game until Missouri State used a 10-0 run to turn a 14-12 deficit into a 22-14 lead. The Braves would punch right back, though, and used a 10-0 run of their own to reclaim the advantage, 24-22. Missouri State had one run left in itself, however, that the Braves couldn't answer this time. The Bears scored the next 13 points to move in front, 35-24, en route to a 39-29 halftime lead.

In the second stanza, Braves would cut their deficit to single digits early but Missouri State quickly pushed it back over 10 points and held on for the 15-point victory, 72-57.

The Bears finished by shooting 48.3 percent in the winning performance with another strong day behind the arc at 11-of-27. The Braves made 40.4 percent of their baskets with an 8-of-25 day from 3-point range.

Bradley is now set for a final three-game homestand to close out the 2020-21 regular season. The Braves begin the stretch against I-74 rival Illinois State on Thursday with a 6 p.m. tipoff.

Game Notes: Mast's 15 points are two shy of his career high, while his 11 boards matches his personal best … McAdoo's 13 points are his most in a Bradley uniform … Bradley played without four suspended players – Elijah Childs, Ja'Shon Henry, Danya Kingsby and Terry Nolan Jr. – for the second-straight game due to violations of program standards.
