ST. LOUIS - A return to winning ways has seen Bradley's Sandra Maletin named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the first time this season and the seventh time in her career, according to an announcement from the league office Wednesday afternoon.

Maletin swept the weekend at No. 1 Singles, which started by authoring a comeback victory against Tamara Malazonia of UIC 4-6, 6-4, 10-2. She followed that up with a comfortable 6-1, 6-2 victory against Isabelle Popma of Eastern Michigan.

This is the first time this season that Maletin has won the award. Last season, she won it three times, claiming the honor Jan. 28, Feb. 11 and Mar. 10. Maletin's seventh recognition extends her school record.

The Braves continue their 11-match homestand at The Clubs at River City on Saturday at 1 P.M. against Southeast Missouri State. Coverage will be provided on Twitter @BradleyUTennis and on BradleyBraves.com.

Due to Restore Illinois Phase 4 COVID mitigation protocols, fans will not be permitted to attend Bradley's indoor competitions at the Clubs at River City.
