Match Recap: Women's Tennis | | Josh Schwam, Athletics Communications Student Assistant
PEORIA, Ill. – Despite two straight-set wins at Numbers 1 and 2 singles by Sandra Maletin and Bozana Lojpur, respectively, Southeast Missouri State defeated Bradley by a score of 5-2 in a Saturday afternoon clash at The Clubs at River City.

The Braves took early leads in all doubles matches, but lost their grip in Numbers 2 and 3 in the closing stages. The tandem of Maletin and Natalia Barbery secured their 42nd win as a duo, tying the record for the most wins as a duo in program history.

Maletin and Lojpur won in straight sets, despite each going down early.

Maria Bezmenova played the longest singles match of the day at Number 4 singles, but eventually came up short looking for her second career singles win. It was the first three set match of her career.

The Braves will get an early-week rest before getting back at it Friday at 2 P.M. against SIU-Edwardsville.

Due to Restore Illinois Tier 1 and Phase 4 COVID mitigation protocols, fans will not be permitted to attend Bradley's indoor competitions at the Clubs at River City.
