PEORIA, Ill. – Despite two straight-set wins at Numbers 1 and 2 singles by
Sandra Maletin and
Bozana Lojpur, respectively, Southeast Missouri State defeated Bradley by a score of 5-2 in a Saturday afternoon clash at The Clubs at River City.
The Braves took early leads in all doubles matches, but lost their grip in Numbers 2 and 3 in the closing stages. The tandem of Maletin and
Natalia Barbery secured their 42
nd win as a duo, tying the record for the most wins as a duo in program history.
Maletin and Lojpur won in straight sets, despite each going down early.
Maria Bezmenova played the longest singles match of the day at Number 4 singles, but eventually came up short looking for her second career singles win. It was the first three set match of her career.
The Braves will get an early-week rest before getting back at it Friday at 2 P.M. against SIU-Edwardsville.
