Hannah Thompson Named Bradley Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Junior outside hitter Hannah Thompson (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) has been named this week's Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping Bradley Volleyball sweep a two-game road series at Evansville.

Named the MVC Player of the Week Tuesday, Thompson averaged 4.71 kills while hitting .345 and also collected 5.29 digs, 0.57 aces and 0.29 blocks per set in the victories. She opened the weekend series with a season-best 18 kills also notched a match-high 23 digs in addition to her two aces and a solo block in a four-set win against the Aces Sunday, hitting .372 in the victory. Thompson followed that by hitting .317 and collecting 15 kills, 14 digs, one block and two aces in a three-set win Monday. A health science major, Thompson owns a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Thompson and the Braves are back home this weekend for a two-game series against Southern Illinois that starts Sunday with a 3 p.m. contest at Renaissance Coliseum.
