Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
Peoria, Ill. – The Bradley men's basketball dropped an 80-71 decision to first-place Drake on Friday night at Carver Arena. The Braves are now 11-15 and 5-12 versus Missouri Valley Conference action, while the Bulldogs improve to 24-2 and 15-2 versus league foes.

Junior Ja'Shon Henry led Bradley with 17 points to go with six boards. Three additional Braves scored in double figures with redshirt freshman Rienk Mast scoring 14 points with a team-best seven rebounds and three assists. Junior Kevin McAdoo and sophomore Ville Tahvanainen also chipped in 10 points apiece.

The Braves started the game strong and led by as many as nine points, 23-14, with nine minutes remaining in the opening period. Bradley made 55.6 percent of its baskets during the opening stretch, while holding the Bulldogs to 33.3 percent shooting.

The lead for Bradley, however, would not last. Drake finished the first half on a 27-8 run to head into the locker room with a double-digit advantage. The Bulldogs made 12 of their final 13 field goals in the period, while holding the Braves to 3-of-11 shooting as the team headed into the locker room with Drake in front, 41-31.

The teams played an even second-half but the 10-point deficit proved to be too much for the Braves. After trailing by as many as 19 points, Bradley fought back and pulled to as close as seven points before the Bulldogs secured the nine-point win, 80-71.

Drake finished the game by shooting 52.7 percent from the field with a 12-of-22 performance from 3-point range. The Braves, meanwhile, made 47.5 percent of their baskets with an 8-of-26 mark from beyond the arc.

The schools wrap up the regular season and finish their two-game series tomorrow night at Carver Arena with a 6 p.m. tipoff.

Game Notes: Bradley's 47.5 percent shooting was the team's highest since a victory against Evansville on Jan. 17 …. Henry led the team in scoring in back-to-back games for the first time in his career … Mast has recorded seven double-digit scoring games in the last nine contests (he had three in his first 17 career games) … McAdoo has also scored at least 10 points in 4-of-5 games after not reaching the number in his first 11 games of the season … Opponents have made at least 48 percent of their baskets in the last four games against Bradley.
