PEORIA, Ill. -- Nearly a full year removed from its last competition, Bradley Men's Golf will get back into the swing of things this weekend with the Braves traveling to Edwardsville, Ill., for a Saturday duel against SIU Edwardsville.

Bradley will open its 2020-21 season with the first of two stroke-play duels against the Cougars with Saturday's event teeing off at 11 a.m. at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, Ill.  The Braves will have a home rematch against SIUE in a few weeks, hosting the Cougars Saturday, March 13 at Coyote Creek Golf Club in Bartonville, Ill.

Last season came to an end for Bradley at the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tenn., early last March after the Braves posted their best finish of the year with a fourth-place showing.

Boasting one of the youngest lineups in the Missouri Valley Conference last season, Bradley returns all six letterwinners from the 2019-20 squad in addition to welcoming sophomore Roy Radke, who spent his freshman year at Arizona State after a professional hockey career, and Peoria, Ill., native Mike Wales (Notre Dame High School).

Senior Alex Ciaramitaro was Bradley's top finisher in six of seven tournaments last year and posted a team-best 74.71 stroke average in his 21 rounds after playing a total of 12 competitive rounds in his first three seasons as a member of the team.  Ciaramitaro fired a career-best 68 in the final round of the Invitational at Savannah Harbor last February and owned an impressive 73.17 stroke average last spring.

Josh Kirkham was one of two individuals to place among Bradley's top three finishers in all seven tournaments last year as a freshman.  He capped the season on a high note, tying for 17th at the Grover Page Classic for his best finish of the year as he closed the year second on the squad with a 77.19 stroke average.

Parkland College transfer Jalen Hodges was solid in his first year on The Hilltop in 2019-20, ranking third on the team in stroke average (77.57).  Hodges was BU's top finisher in his debut, firing a season-best five-over 221 at the Crusader Collegiate in Chesterton, Ind.

John Stillman also closed his rookie season at Bradley on the upswing, posting his lowest 54-hole total of the year at the Grover Page Classic (230) to tie for 26th.  Stillman finished the year with a 79.90 stroke average.

The Braves will also be bolstered by the return of Nick Armbrust and Brimfield, Ill., product Brady Kreiter.  Armbrust played in all seven tournaments in 2019-20, while Kreiter enrolled at Bradley for the Spring 2020 semester with his lone appearance coming at the Grover Page Classic that closed the year.
