PEORIA, Ill – Anchored for the second day in a row by winning the doubles point and quick straight set victories by Sandra Maletin and Maria Bezmenova, the Braves swept the Chicago State Cougars by a score of 7-0 Saturday at The Clubs at River City.

The Braves took early leads in all three doubles matches for the first time this season, and clinched the point with a 6-2 win by Bozana Lojpur/Nikki Perlwitz at #2 and a 6-4 win by Maletin and Victoria Sanchez Bronzetti.

After their first weekend of action together, the #1 tandem of Maletin/Sanchez Bronzetti are 2-0.

After Maletin and Bezmenova's singles wins made the match score 3-0, Lojpur's 6-3, 6-3 win at #2 singles clinched the win for the Braves. Bezmenova has now won three of her last four matches, including two straight.

Lojpur was followed by a gritty 4-6, 6-3, 12-10 win at No. 3 singles by Victoria Sanchez Bronzetti. Sanchez Bronzetti went down 8-5 in the third set tiebreaker and saved one match point before claiming the two-plus hour victory.

The Braves will have their longest break of the season thus far, getting back in action Tuesday, March 9^th at 3 P.M. against Western Illinois Coverage will be provided on Twitter @BradleyUTennis and on BradleyBraves.com.
