VALPARAISO, IN – Seniors Gabi Haack (20 points) and Nyjah White (18) combined for 38 points on 15-for-27 shooting, leading Bradley (11-7, 7-4 MVC) to another second-game victory, 61-51, against host Valparaiso (6-9, 3-6 MVC) Friday night at Athletics Recreation Center.

Rebounding from Thursday night's 71-66 loss to the Crusaders, Bradley improved to 5-0 in the second game of this season's back-to-back-days Missouri Valley Conference scheduling format.

In addition to her scoring efforts on the block, White continued her do-everything effort by adding seven rebounds and sharing game-high honors with four assists for the Braves.  Emily Marsh came off the bench to snare a game-high eight rebounds, as Bradley finished the night with a 41-29 rebounding advantage.

Shay Frederick led Valparaiso with 11 points and Caitlin Morrison completed the double-digit scoring effort with 10 points for the Crusaders.

A night after sinking a program-record 17 3-point field goals, Valparaiso was just 7-for-26 (.269) from beyond the arc and the Crusaders also missed nine of their 17 free throw attempts.

Haack drained her fourth 3-pointer of the night with 7:42 left in the fourth quarter and Lasha Petree followed with a triple of her own just 31 seconds later, extending Bradley's lead to a game-high 15 points, 57-42, and the Crusaders never got their deficit under double digits the rest of the way.

After a sluggish first quarter, the Braves turned up the heat in the second stanza, flipping an 18-14 deficit at the first break into a 37-27 lead at halftime.  Three consecutive layups from White, with an "and-1" three-point play in the middle, launched a 16-1 run that propelled the Braves to a 37-24 lead with 11 seconds left in the half, before Shay Frederick buried a deep 3-pointer just before the buzzer for the 37-27 halftime margin.

The Braves will play five of their final seven regular-season games at home, beginning with the 2-game series versus Valley rival UNI Feb. 12 and 13 at Renaissance Coliseum.

NOTES:  Converting a back-door layup with 9:27 left in the third quarter, Haack moved into seventh place on Bradley's all-time scoring list, passing Heather Best (1,447 points, 1995-99) … Haack finished the game with 1,453 points, eight behind Karin Nicholls (1,461 from 1986-90) … Haack's four 3-pointers also moved her up two spots on The Valley's all-time list for career 3-pointer field goals and into a tie for 13th in league history with 256 career treys.
