The Braves earned their fourth straight win and improved to 3-0 at the Buccaneer Classic

JOHNSON CITY, TN – Samantha Smith and Camryn Monteer both banged out two hits and scored two runs, Stacia Seeton drove in three and four Bradley pitchers combined on the effort from the circle as Bradley (6-6) earned its fourth straight win with a 6-5 decision Sunday morning at Betty Basler Field.
 
With its second win against the Zips (1-10) in as many days, the Braves improved to 3-0 at the Buccaneer Classic and will try to complete a perfect showing at the East Tennessee State 3-team, double round robin by facing the hosts this afternoon.
 
Monteer got the scoring started by leading off the game with a double and scoring on a Vicki Zalukse ground out.  Smith pushed the lead to 2-0 by leading off the second with a single, stealing second and scoring on a Lucy Mead sacrifice fly.
 
After Akron struck for three runs in the third, Bradley pulled even when Monteer again led off with a base hit, took two bases on a Zaluske sacrifice and scored on a Seeton ground out.
 
The Braves took control by scoring in a fourth consecutive inning, this time with three runs in the fourth.  Smith once again got things started by drawing a leadoff walk.  Grace French followed with a walk and Abigail Tyler pushed the Bradley lead to 5-3 with a RBI single.  Zaluske added a 2-out walk later in the inning to load the bases and Seeton came through with a 2-run single to complete Bradley's scoring.
 
Carrying a 6-4 lead into the seventh, things got tense when the Zips pushed one across and still had the bases loaded with one out.  French relieved Thompson in the circle and induced a come-backer for a force out at the plate and then a ground ball to second base to end the game.
