Track & Field 3/25/2021 2:28:00 PM
For the first time in 672 days, the Bradley track and field teams are set for competition on an outdoor track as BU opens its 2021 campaign at the Billiken Invite on the campus of Saint Louis Friday.

MEET INFO
The action begins on the track on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Bradley is joined at the Billiken Invite by host Saint Louis, Illinois State and SIU Edwardsville.

The Braves are slated to run in the 100m hurdles, 400m dash, 800m run, 1,500m run and 4x400 relay on the men's side, while competing in the 100m hurdles, 200m dash, 400m dash, 800m run, 1,500m run, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay and long jump in women's action.

2019 OUTDOOR REVISITED
With the 2020 outdoor season canceled due to the COVID pandemic, the Braves are competing on an outdoor track for the first time since 2019.

When the Braves were last in action two seasons ago, the Bradley men set a school record with 70 points at the MVC Outdoor Championship, placing seventh overall and featuring six all-conference performances. Braves that collected All-Valley honors and remain on the 2021 roster include Alec Hartman (800m, 4x400), Scott Seymour (4x400) and Joey Simon (4x400). Seymour also scored for BU in the 800m, while Alec Danner added points in the 5,000m run.

The Bradley women finished eighth overall in 2019 at the MVC Championship. McKenzie Altmayer was the highlight of the Braves' season among current runners as she set the program's 3,000m steeplechase record in California that season with a time of 10:31.57.

BRADLEY OUTDOOR DEBUTS
With the 2020 season canceled, 23 of the 34 Braves set to compete on Friday are making their outdoor collegiate debuts. Nine of 17 men running at Saint Louis will see their first action on an outdoor track, while 14 of the 17 women will do the same.

2021 INDOOR RECAP
The good news for Bradley is that the teams are comping off one of their best indoor seasons in school history. Both the men and women eclipsed 50 points at the same indoor championship for the first time in program history with the women scoring a team-record 58 points and the men totaling 51.

Bradley swept the distance medley relay titles in the same year for the first time, while Julia Nielsen also claimed the women's 800m run crown. The Braves also featured all-conference performers in Max Dieterich (mile), Wilma Nielsen (800m, mile), Charlie Parrish (3,000m) and the women's 4x400 relay.

UP NEXT
