KIRKWOOD, Mo. – Senior Taylor Ledwein fired a career-best, four-under 67 in the first round and is the individual leader in the clubhouse, while Bradley Women's Golf is third in the team standings after the opening day of action at the Diane Daugherty Invitational Monday.

On a breezy day at the par-71 Greenbriar Hills Country Club, Ledwein got things started for the Braves on a strong note with a birdie on her first hole and would go on to add four more as she fired a career-best four-under 67 in the opening round.

Ledwein, who joined Danielle Lemek as the only Braves to shoot four career rounds in the 60's, birdied holes 11, 12, 13 and 15 to fire a 31 on the back nine as she nearly matched Lemek's school-record low round of 66 set on March 23, 2014.

The leader after two rounds of play, Ledwein followed up her morning round 67 with a seven-over 78 to close the day at three-over par 145 and will take a two-shot lead on the field into Tuesday's final round.

Team rounds of 309 and 308 has Bradley in third in the standings at 617.  Arkansas State sits atop the team standings at 605, while Missouri Valley Conference rival Illinois State has a three-shot edge on the Braves with the Redbirds closing the day's action second overall at 614.  Bradley was two shots better than fourth-place South Dakota in the 16-team field that includes eight of the other nine MVC teams.

Mara Flaherty sits two shots out of the top 20 in a tie for 25th overall, following up a first-round 80 with a 77 to finish the day at 157.  Maddie Hawkins had an eight-shot improvement from her first round 83; posting the lowest second for the Braves at four-over 75 and is one back of Flaherty at 158 in a tie for 30th.

Elyse Emerzian matched Hawkins first-day total of 158 (T30th), posting rounds of 80 and 78 during Monday's action.  Megan Welch rounded out the team scoring for Bradley at 162 (T46th), firing rounds of 82 and 80.

The final round of the Diane Daugherty Invitational tees off Tuesday at 9 a.m.
