Sánchez-Bronzetti and Maletin Earn First Doubles Team of the Week

ST. LOUIS – After defeating Illinois State's No. 1 doubles team of Tara Damnjanovic/Tijana Zlatanovic, the only duo to win Missouri Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week more than once this season, Bradley's new No. 1 Doubles pairing of Victoria Sánchez-Bronzetti/Sandra Maletin were named Missouri Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office Wednesday afternoon.

The win at No. 1 Doubles was key in Bradley's effort to take the doubles point, marking the second time in the last two matchups the Braves have taken the doubles point against Illinois State.

Sánchez-Bronzetti and Maletin have found success as a tandem after first being paired up on Feb. 26 against SIUE, going 3-1 together.

Maletin has already proven her success in doubles play, holding the program record for most wins by a pair alongside Natalia Barbery. Additionally, Sánchez-Bronzetti has found little difficulty in the No. 1 spot after playing all of her freshman year at No. 3 Doubles.

The Braves have won four of their last six matches and look to earn their first conference win of the season on Saturday, April 3 at Missouri State. The dual match will be the first time Bradley Tennis has played on the road this season after playing its first nine matches at home.
