CEDAR FALLS, IA –
Jillian Navarro belted two home runs and
Avry Blume added one of her own, but Bradley dropped the rubber game of a three-game set to UNI 14-6 Sunday afternoon at the Robinson-Dresser Complex.
The Panthers (24-16, 13-7 MVC) got hot early, plating four runs on three home runs in the bottom half of the first inning. After tacking the Braves (16-17, 9-11 MVC) for two more in the second, Navarro smacked her first home run of the afternoon, a solo shot with one out in the third.
Camryn Monteer followed by turning a seven pitch at-bat into a single down the left field line, and
Stacia Seeton walked, setting up
Avry Blume's three run home run. It was Blume's fourth home run of the season. After three innings, Bradley trailed 7-4.
The Panthers responded by plating seven runs in the fifth to end the contest and take the series victory.
The Braves are back in action Tuesday, April 27 for a single game against Illinois State at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex. First pitch against the Redbirds is slated for 3 o'clock.
