NORMAN, Okla. – For the seventh consecutive year Bradley Men's Golf earned Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Academic Team honors, with the Braves one of 121 NCAA Division I teams in the nation to garner the honor announced Friday.
Bradley was one of five Missouri Valley Conference squads recognized by the GCAA for finishing the 2020-21 school year with a 3.00 team grade point average, joining Drake, Evansville, Illinois State and Valparaiso.
The Braves have been recognized with the GCAA All-Academic Team award each of the last seven years, which included leading the MVC in GPA in 2014-15. Evansville and Valparaiso join BU as the only MVC programs to earn the distinction each of the past seven years and the trio is among 27 NCAA Division I teams honored each of the last seven seasons.
A college or university must submit the grade point averages for each player on its official squad list for the academic year in order to be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors. To qualify as an All-Academic Team, the team must have a cumulative 3.0 or better grade point average for the year.
Individually, three Braves boasted GPA's of 3.4 or better in 2020-21, with John Stillman posting a perfect 4.00 grade point average for the academic year. Five of eight individuals on the 2020-21 roster landed on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll in at least one of the two semesters for registering a GPA of 3.30 or higher. Alex Ciaramitaro was named a First-Team MVC Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive year.
