Bradley Track Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

The Bradley track and field team programs continue to set records on and off the track, earning USTFCCCA All-Academic Team distinction.

The BU men's team finished with the nation's fourth-best grade point average at 3.576 with only San Francisco (3.74), Stanford (3.657) and Utah State (3.59) and finishing ahead of the Braves. The women's team also led the Missouri Valley Conference with a 3.601 cumulative GPA.

Individually, seven Braves were honored on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, surpassing the previous school record of six set in 2018 and 2019. The award is presented to a student-athlete that finished the regular season ranked in the top 96 nationally in an indoor event or participated in the NCAA Preliminaries during the outdoor campaign, while also maintaining at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA.

Alec Hartman received the honor for the third time in his career with Scott Seymour joining his teammate for the second time. Tiana LoStracco, Evan Mitchell, Sophia McDonnell, Julia Nielsen and Wilma Nielsen were also named to the team for the first time during their careers.

On the track, the Braves set a record with a combined 109 points at the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship – topping the previous standard of 104 in 2016. The Bradley women also established a new school standard at the indoor championship with 58 points – surpassing the prior record of 47 set in 2015.
