CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Bradley Women's Golf had four individuals named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars according to an announcement by the WGCA Tuesday, with Elyse Emerzian, Mara Flaherty, Maddie Hawkins and Megan Welch each earning the honor.

Emerzian and Hawkins both garnered the award for a third consecutive year, while Flaherty and Welch were repeat honorees.

Bradley has had at least four WGCA All-American Scholars each of the past three years and five of the last six seasons.  The Braves have boasted at least three honorees for seven consecutive years.

The WGCA All American-Scholar team included 1,432 women's collegiate golfers from NCAA Division I, II & III. The criteria for selection required a minimum 3.50 grade point average and participation in at least 50 percent of the rounds scheduled during the regular season.

Emerzian played in all but one event in 2020-21 and ranked second for the Braves with a 78.45 stroke average.  She tied for 18th at the Jan Weaver Invitational, firing a season-best 73 in the second round and capped the year with a 25th-place finish at the MVC Championship.  A marketing major, Emerzian owns a 3.84 cumulative grade point average.

The only Brave to play in every tournament over the past two seasons, Flaherty ranked fourth on the squad with a 79.57 stroke average this past year.  She paced the team at the season-opening First Coast Classic in Jacksonville, Fla., and tied for 18th at the Diane Daugherty Invitational to highlight the year.  Majoring in manufacturing engineering, Flaherty owns a 3.94 cumulative grade point average.

Hawkins was an honorable mention MVC Scholar-Athlete this past year after she was selected a First-Team MVC Scholar-Athlete in 2019-20.  She owned an 80.36 stroke average in 2020-21 and wrapped up her career with the 18th lowest career stroke average (79.36) in Bradley history.  Boasting a 3.89 cumulative grade point average, Hawkins majored in civil engineering.

Welch ranked third on the team with a 79.07 stroke average this spring, which included a 78.09 average over the final four outings.  She tied for 12th at the Jan Weaver Invitational, matching her low round of the year with an opening-round 73.  Welch tied for 22nd at the MVC Championship to close out the year.  A mathematics education major, she owns a 3.59 cumulative grade point average.

Bradley's four WGCA All-American Scholars pushed the programs total to 44 honorees over the last 12 seasons.
