Logan Named MVC Defensive Player of the Week

Graduate transfer has earned the weekly honor twice in his first 12 games as a Brave

ST. LOUIS – Just 12 games into his Bradley career, graduate transfer Bryce Logan (Bellingham, WA/Mt. Baker HS) already has earned the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week twice in his Braves career. Logan was named the first recipient of the award for the 2021 season, according to an announcement from the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Logan helped the Braves to a 1-0 win against Omaha in the season opener Thursday at Shea Stadium by recording four saves in the shutout performance. He was particularly impressive in the game's early going, coming up with two big stops in the opening minutes, allowing his young Bradley teammates to get their footing as the match progressed. Facing 13 shots on the night, Logan finished with four saves against the Mavericks to post the 10th shutout of his career and second clean sheet for the Braves.

The reigning Missouri Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, Logan first earned MVC Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors March 9, 2021 after making six saves in a 1-0 win against Valley rival Evansville.

Logan and the Braves will be back in action with a pair of road games, Thursday (6 p.m. CT) at Wright State and Monday (1 p.m.) at Oral Roberts. Bradley returns to Shea Stadium next week for games Sept. 10 (7 p.m.) against DePaul and Sept. 12 (1 p.m.) versus Utah Valley.
