Game Recap: Soccer | | Bobby Parker, Associate AD for Communications
PEORIA, IL -- Utah Valley used two second-half goals to secure a 2-1 victory against the Bradley soccer team on Sunday afternoon at Shea Stadium. The Braves are now 1-4-0 on the year, while the Wolverines improve to 3-0-2.

Bradley grabbed the early lead in the contest thanks to Francesco Pettinaroli's first career goal. After Utah Valley cleared the ball right outside the box, Pettinaroli volleyed the ball into the right netting for the 1-0 advantage in the 19th minute.

Utah Valley, however, answered with two second-half tallies to take the lead. Carter Johnson scored from goal-line extended in the 57th minute before Aaron Nixon headed the winner in in the 68th minute.

The Braves had a number of near misses when searching for the equalizer. In the 77th minute, a BU player got behind the defense but had his shot go wide before Jack Douglas forced the Wolverines' goalie into a pair of saves in the closing five minutes.

Utah Valley finished with an 18-10 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. Bryce Logan recorded four saves for BU in goal.

The Braves are back in action on Saturday, beginning Missouri Valley Conference action at Drake. Kickoff in Des Moines is set for 7 p.m.
